Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations
This section covers issues that we need to fix and are working to do so.
- Tab focus on some elements and tab order not following logical order on some pages because Keyboard navigation order and focus not developed. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.3.3, 2.4.7 and 2.4.3. We will correct this in due course to ensure Tab focus and tab order follow a logical order for keyboard users.
- Keyboard users do not have a method to quickly skip to main content, bypassing navigation items. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 2.4.1 because 'Skip to content' navigation item not put in place. We will correct this and add a 'Skip to content' navigation in due course.
- Header image does not have a text alternative (alt-text), so people using a screen reader cannot access the information. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.1.1 (non-text content) because No provision was provided for text alternative for header image. We will correct insufficient alt-text for header images in due course.
- Images do not have a text alternative (alt-text) on the home page, therefore people using a screen reader cannot access the information. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.1.1 (non-text content) because No alt-text provision for home page images. Home page images are decorative and will be labelled as such in due course.
- With CSS disabled, modal warning elements show and interfere with screen readers. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 2.1.2 because Modal elements are hidden from the GUI until required. We will update the modal elements to not show with CSS disabled in due course.
